Dr. Wilson joined our VCA Gulf Bay team in July 2013. She graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Veterinary Medcine. Following graduation from veterinary school, she completed an internship at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA. While there, she gained a tremendous amount of emergency medicine experience. Dr. Wilson was a swim instructor at UT T-Recs from May 2009-2011, interned while in scholl at TOPS Veterinary Rehab where she experienced the industry of small animal rehabilitation. In addition, she speaks Spanish at an advanced level. Dr. Wilson relocated her with her husband and cat, Spritz. She enjoys spending time outside, baking and scrapbooking. "I love the magic of medicine. Everyday I get to share the magic with those around me. Some days are like looking at the world through the wrong end of a kaleidoscope, which definitely keeps things interesting. The funny thing about magic is the mystery. There's always more to uncover. Each day I am challenged by uncovering the mystery of medicine. Smash Mouth put it best in their song All Star, You'll never shine if you don't glow. Here's to glowing a little bit more every single day because only shooting stars break the mold. That is why I do what I do (plus being a veterinarian keeps me from hoarding :-)"

“When they ask me in kindergarten what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said I wanted to be a veterinarian. I didn’t really have pets growing up but I always loved animals. One of my earliest pictures was when I was two years old bending down to pets a stray cat. Life is so fulfilling and enriched with animals as a part of it and I love being able to give them as long, happy and healthy life as I possibly can since they give me so much joy!!” Dr. Kimberly Kempfer graduated from veterinary school in 1999 from Ohio State University. She has a BS in biology and her special interest include feline medicine, dermatology and dentistry. When away from work she enjoys singing and travel.
